Our Story
Our family believes in "lagniappe". Its always possible to gift a little extra.
I am the mom to two very sick kids (you can read about that here), a single parent, no family in the area, the sole support for our little family (I have an awesome gigs as a nonprofit consultant), and we lost the girls' dad a few years ago after a long illness. A perfect storm – or the perfect opportunity to embrace joy and to share my gratitude.
I choose hope. I believe that love wins.
And so Grati-tools came to be. Tools and talismans to evoke and practice gratitude.
Grati-tools is founded on the idea that no matter what happens- we can always choose to be grateful. And we have a lot to be grateful for.

This is said from a place of having had many hard things happen. And of course, many wonderful and beautiful things as well.
One day - we want to see every family and kid receiving treatment from a children's hospital gifted a lagniappe of grati-tools- because gratitools has helped us embrace that space between what happens to you and how you react.
